Ross & Cromarty War Memorials

 

AVOCH


This imposing Memorial stands on high ground at the junction of the main road into Avoch (A832) and a side road which leads to a former Free Church, now converted into a dwelling house.

The Memorial is an elegant, well-designed tapered pillar, painted primrose-yellow, and standing on a three-stepped
platform painted a dark grey. The pillar has an engraved sword on it under which are the words below -

ledge under which is a large square block with
moulded edging on the corners. On the front, there
is a wreath design where the arms of it encircle a
crown - then the words -
